**Job Description**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Windows System Administrator to join our team for new work beginning September 1. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Windows-based systems and infrastructure and will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our IT environment.
Responsibilities:
+ Design, deploy, and maintain Windows server infrastructure including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
+ Monitor system performance and proactively troubleshoot issues.
+ Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
+ Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning.
+ Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency using scripting languages such as PowerShell.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications and projects.
+ Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions to enhance system capabilities.
+ Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior team members.
+ Maintain operational, configuration, and other standard operating procedures (SOPs).
This position is located at Fort Belvoir, VA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Fort Belvoir or surrounding areas.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree).
At least 5 years of experience as a Windows System Administrator in an enterprise environment.
In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019).
Proficiency in Active Directory management, including user and group policy administration.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Security or equivalent DoD 8570 Level II certification.
Ability to create and modify scripts in multiple disciplines on Windows, Linux, and Solaris systems.
General knowledge of database administration, network administration and possess network configuration management skills.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
Relevant certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, or equivalent.
Skills in one or more of the following Windows Server, Red Hat, IRIX, Solaris, Sybase, Informix, SQL, and Imagery Production Chain.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
