The Role:

We're seeking a skilled and design-oriented Website Developer to join our local team and take our clients' web presence to the next level. This role demands both the technical expertise of WordPress and PHP development and the keen eye of a designer who understands user experience and aesthetics. Please note this role is in person, with the possibility of hybrid.

Hours are between 9:30 to 5:30 PM, at our office in Westlake Village, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins, utilizing PHP for complex functionality.
• Design and implement beautiful, user-friendly websites leveraging Liquid templating for dynamic content.
• Leverage APIs and integrate them seamlessly into websites. You should be familiar with POST and GET requests.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness across all devices.
• Proactively troubleshoot and fix technical issues.
• Stay current with the latest web development trends and technologies.
• Collaborate with designers and other team members to achieve project goals.

Design Expertise:

• Strong understanding of design principles, including color theory, typography, layout, and user experience (UX).
• Ability to translate design mockups into functional and visually appealing websites.
• Skillful use of design tools like Figma or Sketch.

Technical Prowess:

• Proven experience building websites with WordPress and PHP.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, React, and JavaScript.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Experience with Liquid templating and Shopify development.
• Experience with performance optimization techniques.

Bonus Points:

• Understanding of headless WordPress deployments.
• Familiarity with accessibility best practices.
