Plant Manager

Position Overview
We are looking for someone to be responsible for managing and leading the manufacturing operations in Fontana, CA. The ideal candidate will oversee safe and environmentally conscious operations on a daily basis to ensure only the highest-quality products are produced in a timely and cost-efficient manner.  They will utilize lean manufacturing tools and processes to create a culture of total employee engagement and the elimination of all waste, manage the inventory of raw materials and finished products, and direct the planning and layout of equipment, workflow, and workforce utilization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the plant to ensure production goals are met.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage capital projects to improve plant infrastructure and production capabilities.
  • Utilize Six Sigma methodology to identify and reduce process variation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly concerning hazardous materials.
  • Lead and develop plant personnel, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze production metrics and prepare reports for senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 5 years experience in chemical plant management or 8 years experience in one or more chemical plant management function: production, materials management, technical, engineering or maintenance.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role in a manufacturing operation.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with SAP or other business management system for production planning and inventory management.
  • Demonstrated ability in capital project management and execution.
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office
