Where You Will Work 

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. Employees working on a flexible schedule collaborate online and in-person at our Collaboration Hub at the Cotton Center in Phoenix. Description

Under close supervision, assists in the planning and performing of Mining Engineering duties related to development and production at assigned underground site.

 

  • Assists in the development of mining plans to support short and/or long range planning and production goals
  • Monitors mining methods and equipment, with a view to improving performance
  • Assists in developing and managing mine ventilation
  • Assists in identifying courses of action to improve safety, operational efficiencies, control production costs and protect the environment
  • Participates in Engineering feasibility studies to define proper mining methods, equipment selection, mine site facilities, and manpower and production requirements
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining or Geological Engineering with no experience required
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of Mining Engineering
  • Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge, or developing knowledge of Underground Mining methods

Preferred

  • Knowledge of or work experience in two (2) or more of the following:
  • Ventilation
  • Mine Planning
  • Scheduling
  • Ground Support
  • Surveying
  • Mining Crew Operations

Criteria/Conditions

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Position will travel throughout USA and internationally
  • Position is in busy, non-smoking office located in downtown Phoenix, AZ
  • Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator and internal staircase
  • Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

What We Offer You 

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $76,000-$104,000 . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
