Utah Hockey Club, a brand new NHL franchise, is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Studio Analyst to join our TV broadcast team! Become the voice of analysis in our studio, providing insightful breakdowns and passionate takes for our fans.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Deliver insightful and entertaining analysis on upcoming games, recent plays, and key storylines surrounding the team and the NHL.
- Break down player performance, analyze team strategies, and discuss league-wide trends during pre-game and post-game shows.
- Participate in studio discussions with the host and other analysts, offering a variety of perspectives and fostering a lively debate.
- Conduct interviews with players, coaches, and front office personnel, generating interesting content and engaging viewers.
- Contribute to pre-produced content for broadcasts, such as player profiles, historical recaps, or strategy breakdowns.
- Participate in promotional/sponsor activities and community events to build excitement for the team and connect with fans.
- Maintain a professional and engaging on-air presence, fostering a positive image for the team and the NHL.
- Represent the Utah team with professionalism and enthusiasm at promotional events and community outreach initiatives.
- Maintain a strong social media presence, interacting with fans and generating excitement for the team.
- Contribute and collaborate on the team's social media and streaming content efforts
- Attend and represent the team at press conferences and other team/media events, gathering information to generate content for broadcasts and streaming platforms
- Work closely with the broadcast team to prepare for games, including researching opponents, players, and storylines; collaborate with the broadcast team for the Jazz as appropriate
- Travel to some road games required
- Protect the reputation of Smith Entertainment Group and its NHL franchise

QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a hockey analyst or color commentator (television preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of hockey strategy, player evaluation, and the current NHL landscape.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to break down complex hockey concepts for a general audience.
- Strong on-air presence with a charismatic and engaging personality.
- Ability to think critically and offer insightful commentary on a variety of hockey topics.
- Experience working within a studio environment and collaborating with other broadcast team members.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
- This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
- This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
- This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
