Job Summary:
The Finance and Accounting Intern will be an integral part of the Finance and Accounting team, actively participating in specific projects, critical for the success of the organization. This position requires analytical work, an understanding of GAAP and a working knowledge of Excel. A highly successful candidate will display integrity, initiative, attention to detail and have a desire to support the Mission of Goodwill.

Job Description

Essential Functions

• Daily tasks of this position will include both administrative tasks such as processing mail and preparing deposits and accounting tasks such as preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
• Participate in projects such as contract management and data validation.
• Support the annual budget process with data entry and analysis of accounts.
• Observe and comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as Core Values.
• Regular, reliable attendance as defined in Goodwill's attendance policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Skills

• Working knowledge of Excel
• Working knowledge of GAAP

Education

• Completed or in-progress Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

Experience

• Three years of college experience.
• Operating knowledge of Excel

Preferred Education / Experience / Knowledge & Skills / Certifications & License

• Strong Excel knowledge
• Knowledge of Accounting/Budgeting Software
• Previous Work Experience in a related field
