Responsibilities Key Tasks and Responsibilities: • 2nd responsible person in charge of MWB/non propelled vessel and other support vessels assigned to MWB spread
• As representative of a McDermott Barge Superintendent, supervise the overall safe installation of the project, as specified and determined in the Project Installation Procedure, liaise with the Offshore Operations of works, and report progress
• Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with established HSES Safety Standards and Work Practices
• Be familiar with the contents of the offshore operations HSES procedures and ensure that all supervisory personnel are also aware of the procedures
• Responsible for following instructions, fulfilling duties, and advising crews of Emergency Response Procedures
• Ensure that all Level 2 / 3 / 4 Offshore Operations Procedures are followed
• Attend interface meetings/pre shift meetings with all shift supervisors to discuss planned events, to ensure regular lines of communications are adhered to by all supervisors to maximize safety, efficiency and productivity
• Assist in ensuring manning levels are maintained for safe operations of projects
• Control marine movements, if instructed by Superintendent in relation to site, and in particular, ensure all vessels are moored in accordance with pre-approved procedures
• Ensure all necessary emergency drills are held at the required intervals
• Ensure timely reporting is made, and records are kept, of all injuries, near misses, incidents, property and / or environmental damage
• Following all company policies and procedures, and ensuring subordinates do the same.
Qualifications Essential Qualifications and Education: - 8 years experience in offshore construction industry
- High school graduate
- Minimum 4 years experience as Barge Foreman
- VMT Certificate or OVM
