Chief Engineer II – Department of General Services

We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer II to manage state-owned buildings and oversee a wide variety of projects in the Sacramento area on the Facilities Management Division (FMD) team.

As a Chief Engineer II you will be responsible for:

• Understanding the mechanical features of high-rise buildings
• Supervising the work of maintenance and building repairs of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, electrical, and mechanical controls
• Ensuring that major projects performed on the building are properly planned, executed and closed out in accordance with standard DGS policies
• Assisting with the Building Automated Control System implementation
• Approving designs, calculating costs, negotiating contracts
• Tracking preventative maintenance using Maximo software
• Ensuring that compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines are met as they relate to the
• Operation of the building infrastructure.
• Alerting management of building discrepancies
• Keeping records of buildings rounds and readings, all engineering logs and
• engineering data sheets

This position requires an EPA Section 608 Technician Certificate.

Pay: $6,783.00 - $8,665.00 per month
